A New and Improved….Darker ME

I am anemic and most times my skin color is pale and white. Although energized, I am careful about the things I do so that I do not overtax my body. With this being said, normally do not spend much time outside in the sun. Ha! Not so this year!

This year, I grew a garden, a very large garden, a garden with over 50 rows of seeds. This means, I had to be outside, several times a day, in the sun, weeding, watering, and gleaning its fruits.

Days turn to weeks and weeks turned to months and with my harvest just about complete, I put my straw garden hat back on the hook, the tools back in the shed, and I am planning what I will plant next year.

When putting away some of my summer clothing, and taking out my fall clothing from the chest, I noticed something different about myself when trying on the fall clothing. My skin had darkened! I hardly knew who I was. I had never even tanned before in my life and now I was looking at a tan I had gotten FREE without the aid of a “tanning spa” or tanning creams. I stood back from the mirror and admired the new shade of “me.” I was “dark” and I love the new me!
